Creativity in Computing

The photographs celebrate our strong progress in developing our skills with creativity on iPad.  Creativity is an important part of the computing curriculum as children learn how to use their digital skills draw together their understanding by making something new.

Digital Toys in Reception

Reception have been exploring the range of ‘digital toys’ available as part of the free-play provision on iPad, including apps like Toca Hair Salon, where they get to develop their fine motor skills and creativity in designing hairstyles!

Digital Drawing in Year 2

In Year 2, children have been thinking about who they can get support from if they are bullied online. This photo shows a child’s creativity in their drawing and writing about this, made using a Logitech Crayon.

Creating Keynotes in Year 3

In Year 3, children have been learning how to put together Keynote presentations, including inserting text and images and adding transitions and animations. The photo shows how a child is able to effectively choose and edit a theme and template to communicate their learning about the Stone Age.

Recording Podcasts in Year 5

Year 5 have been learning about how to be creative in GarageBand by working collaboratively in groups to create their own podcasts. The children explored how podcasts are made and then used different features such as audio recorder, Live Loops, Apple Loops and audio editing to recreate these features and create their own podcast.
