Year 5 Rivers Trip

At the end of the first half of the Summer term, Year 5 visited the Creekside Discovery Centre. First the children looked at artefacts that had been found in the river, that gave them clues as to which industries were around the river historically. Despite in the inclement weather the children were able to walk through the Deptford Creek area of the Ravensbourne River, to spot river features such as meanders and areas of deposition and erosion of the river bank. They also had the opportunity to explore the wildlife that makes the river its home through pond dipping activities.
