‘Productivity’ in Computing

In Computing this term, one theme of children’s learning is ‘Productivity’ with children exploring some key functionality of using a computer, such as creating presentations or using a spreadsheet. Take a look at some photos of children’s work below!

Reception ‘Little Digits’

Reception have been exploring a maths app called ‘Little Digits’ on iPad, which develops children’s number recognition and fine motor skills. This child is exploring the link between what happens on screen and number of fingers they put on the screen.

Year 1 Photos

Year 1 have been learning how to take, edit and combine effective photos. This child has been able to use the Photos app on iPad to crop one photo and rotate another photo to make the subject clearer.

Year 4 Spreadsheets

Year 4 have been learning how to use spreadsheets in Numbers to calculate budgets, using a range of simple formula. This child has been able to layout their table with properly labelled columns and rows and has used formulas to calculate a cost per week.

Year 6 Keynote

Year 6 have been creating ‘kiosk’ presentations in Keynote, with buttons to navigate to different pages that include content from their Creative Curriculum topic. This child has carefully structured their homepage with an attractive layout and clear navigation links.
