Reception Exploring Magnets

These reception children are exploring how magnets work. They are using their observation skills to help them classify which objects are magnetic and which aren’t.

Year 2 Observations of Materials

This Year 2 child has made close observations of the materials and has then used her identifying and classifying skill by sorting the objects into different categories based on their properties. She used headings such as hard and soft, flexible and brittle, shiny and dull, light and heavy.

Year 4 Enquiry Skills

This Year 4 child has been using their practical enquiry skills by setting up different circuits. They have been able to make predictions, draw simple conclusions from the circuits, suggest improvements and raise further questions.

Year 6 Classifying Traits

This child in Year 6 has been using their observation skills to classify traits of inheritance. They have been able to look closely at different features and use this information and apply their knowledge of inheritance to work out who the parents are of each child based on their appearances.r story online can make all the difference.
