Year 4 visits Oxleas Wood

This term, Year 4 have managed to avoid the rain and made it to Oxleas Woods to carry out geography fieldwork. We explored the trees with our senses and gathered data on evergreen and deciduous species to help us compare it with the Amazon Rainforest. We discovered that although the original woodland was vast and has existed for thousands of years, there is lots of evidence that this little pocket that is left, is managed by humans to keep it safe and that visitors are encouraged. We have also learnt how important trees are to the environment and their role in reducing pollution.
