Human and Physical Geography

We are proud to show the learning in various geography units across the school. They reflect our work on Human and Physical Geography, where we learn about human and physical features and the interactions between humans and the physical environment.

Understanding the World in Nursery

We have learnt that the physical world is divided up into different countries (human geography). Having shared this book, we were able to talk about the differences we have experienced personally or seen in photographs.

UK Geography in Year 2

As part of our topic, Year 2 identified the key human and physical features of the four countries of the UK. We compared and contrasted them as countries and identified how they are united in ‘United Kingdom.

Comparing London with Florida in Year 3

In Year 3, the children have been identifying and researching the key human and physical features of London with that of Florida. We have used these to compare and contrast these two areas.

Mountains in Year 6

In Year 6, the children learnt about the physical features of mountains and how this and their location influenced their climate. They compared and contrasted the climate of different mountain ranges such as The Rockies and The Himalayas.
